70 years! It just flies by doesn’t it? I’d better start making my plans for Disneyland’s 100th!

Disneyland opened seventy years ago, on July 17th 1955. Currently, there are fourteen Disneyland opening day attractions that are still in operation today. I tried to find cover songs for all of them, but some don’t even have music. Let’s see what we have . . .
Autopia – This was everyone else’s first experience driving too right? No covers of any of the music from Autopia, but please enjoy this song from the underrated film, Speed Racer
The Disneyland Band – One of the many excellent entertainment acts you can see around the parks. Here’s the band performing a medley of Disney Classics
Disneyland Railroad Main Street Station – Sorry, no songs about this train specifically. I could link to Ferde Grofe’s ‘Grand Canyon Suite‘, but ‘Steam Train’ is much more fun.
The Golden Horseshoe Saloon – I won’t post a full show from the Golden Horseshoe, put please enjoy Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, who we miss dearly
Horse Drawn Street Cars – Well, as much as we love them, the horses don’t really sing. So here’s ‘A Cowboy Needs A Horse’, by Disney legend Fess Parker. originally from the 1956 animated Disney short of the same name..
Jungle Cruise – Definitely going to use this opportunity to share the cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ from the Jungle Cruise movie.
Casey Jr. Circus Train – Oh man, the races to be the first to the monkey car! This cover may be a bit of a cheat because the song is also used in Dumbo, but I wouldn’t want to deprive you of this excellent rockabilly version by Road Out West for a little reason like that
We have a few more ‘cheats’ here, as these attractions were all based on movies. So you basically get covers of music from the films. But don’t fret, they are really good covers 😊
Mad Tea Party – Gotto go with ‘The Unbirthday Song’ right?
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride – Here’s the music from Disneyland Paris
Peter Pan’s Flight – We’ll of course pick ‘You Can Fly!’ and let’s listen to the cover by Wrench from the album Mosh Pit On Disney
Snow White’s Enchanted Wish (formerly Snow White’s Scary Adventures) – ‘Some Day My Prince Will Come’ by Miles Davis, I’m shocked, shocked I tell ya, that I haven’t shared this song here yet. It’s so good.
Oh my, this is getting long isn’t it? Well, let’s end here for today, which is just as well, since there’s not really any music from Storybook Land Canal Boats, King Arthur Carrousel, The Main Street Cinema, or The Mark Twain Riverboat. Okay, I’ll post a song from the carrousel, but only because I live Sleeping Beauty:
