The Legend of Zelda

It’s not a movie, it’s not Disney, but it is one of the most iconic video games ever; The Legend of Zelda, and it’s forty years-old today!

Why don’t we begin with the classic theme, played by a full orchestra? (This would have been played live at Nintendo Live 2024 in Tokyo)

Fun fact, the composer Kōji Kondō was originally going to just Bolero for the theme, but it wasn’t in the public domain. So he ended up writing another of the greatest video game themes songs ever. Decades later it’s still inspiring people, like Stéphane L, to play this metal version;

There’s so much great Zelda cover music out there, that I can’t list it it all! This is all still from only the first game. Like this a cappela  cover of the Dungeon theme. or is it the Labyrinth theme?

And of course, we’ll close today with the Ending theme, but a ragtime version;
